Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a methodology that addresses the body as a whole. Deeply relaxing and gentle, it enables the body to attain its natural state of equilibrium and healing. It is often used to heal the underlying physical, chemical, emotional and mental causes of chronic illness.
During a session, the patient lies on a bed wearing loosely fitting clothing. The therapist applies a series of movements, such as the rolling of muscle, nerve, tendon, and connective tissue along the spine and at specific points throughout the body. The therapist leaves the room between each pattern in the series to allow the patient the opportunity for deep relaxation. It is this deep relaxation combined with the physical treatment that acts upon the body’s nervous system, enabling it to regain its own natural state of equilibrium.
